Star Wars Night 2016!
Star Wars Night presented by Dave & Buster’s was an intergalactic shindig! We sold out “The Joe,” with over 5,200 people attending the game, and many dressed in their Star Wars gear!
Darth Vader, R2D2, a Stormtrooper and a few other characters from the 501st Legion greeted fans, taking photos with those who asked.
CDPHP also presented a big-check donation to the American Heart Association, totaling over $1,300.
Prior to the game, four different people threw out ceremonial first pitches to the ValleyCats batboy Charlie with SouthPaw working as the umpire, including representatives from the Tourette Syndrome Association of Greater New York State, Dave & Buster’s, Quinn of PYX 106, and Jason Soranno of Regeneron.
Jayda Chance, a 2016 ValleyCats anthem contest finalist, delivered a beautiful rendition of the national anthem following the ceremonial first pitches.
Then the ‘Cats played, losing the game versus the visiting Connecticut Tigers, 4–3, after a tough top of the ninth inning that saw a ball bounce off first base, leading to the go-ahead runs.
After the game, fans were treated to a postgame fireworks extravaganza presented by Market 32!
As is routine for ‘Cats home games, two players signed autographs for fans at the Mohawk Honda Autograph Table. Saturday night Chuckie Robinson and Spencer Johnson signed for patient and adoring fans, taking photos with those who asked.
Sponsors at the game included Keeler Mini, Dave & Busters, the Tourette Syndrome Association of Greater New York State, New York Life, and CLYNK.
