The ‘Cats and Jammers were back at it on Saturday for the first ever Medieval Times Night at The Joe! The crowd was divided into four different sections, with a our resident king, Kevin, picking one knight to represent each section during our on-field promotions!

All of our-in game promotions had a Medieval Times feel to it, highlighted by multiple appearances from Zoggy the dragon! Zoggy went down during the 5th inning drag, and was then slayed by the Tri-City Mayors!

Former Major Leaguer Tommy John was on hand as well on Saturday, as part of the Exxon Mobil Super Tour! Tommy threw out a first pitch, and also joined ValleyCats radio man Matt Appel for an inning in the booth!

On the field, the ‘Cats saw their five-game winning streak come to an end on Saturday, dropping a tough 3-2 final to Jamestown. James Ramsay hit a home run for the ValleyCats, but it wasn’t enough, as Jamestown scored a run in the ninth that proved to be the difference.

The ValleyCats wrapped up their homestand on Sunday Funday, which was NFL Night at The Joe! A sellout crowd joined us in full football attire for the biggest pre-game catch of the season!

Before the game, participants from our “Dash to the Diamond” event were honored on the field. Earlier in the day, the runners began their nine-mile jog to the stadium from Fleet Feet Sports, and arrived at The Joe just in time for the game! Great job and congratulations to all that took part in the first-ever Dash to the Diamond!

WNYT’s Rodger Wyland threw out a first pitch on Sunday, and also hosted our in-game Time Warner Sports Trivia contest!

In our Mayors Race, Mayor McCarthy used a great stiff-arm of Mayor Jennings to come home with the gridiron victory!

On the field, the ‘Cats got back to their winning ways, scoring their most runs in one game this season with an 11-5 series-clinching victory over the Jammers! Conrad Gregor had three hits, and Michael Martinez hit another home run, as the ‘Cats improved to 32-22 with the victory!

After the final out, many of the fans came onto the field in search of a hidden remote! Dig Safely New York gave away a new TV to whoever found the remote, and one lucky fan came away with it!

The ‘Cats return home on Monday, August 19th, for a quick two-game series against the Vermont Lake Monsters! The 19th features a Greg Floyd bobblehead giveaway in honor of Hannah’s Hope! Fans will also receive a Hannah bobblehead as well! The homestand continues on Tuesday with a beach party on Island Night at The Joe!
