In-Game Meal for the Road: Aberdeen, August 2
Greetings from Aberdeen, Maryland! Chris Chenes here, filling in for Matt Appel. To start off, Ripken Stadium is unbelievable. We are very lucky to have a stadium like “The Joe” back home, and the same holds true for the IronBirds here in Aberdeen. Honestly, you wouldn’t expect anything less with team owners like Cal and Billy Ripken.
The field you see above, is just one of many that make up “The Ripken Experience”. The complex is home to many youth camps and tournaments hosted by the Ripkens. The complex consists youth-sized replica fields of Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park, Citizens Bank Park, Nationals Stadium and Memorial Stadium. There’s also an all-turf replica of Yankee Stadium for the older age groups.

Coming into the game, he is 3-2 with a 1.49 ERA, good for second in the New York-Penn League. Keys to the game tonight are simple, score early and often. The ‘Cats hitters need to come through with the big hit when men are in scoring position.
Here’s the scorecard for tonight’s game, which includes the lineups:
