The Arts Center of the Capital Region was on hand in the First Niagara Community Spotlight and the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall also participated in the Arts theme.
Capital Region Living Resources was also in the house to display some unique baseball-themed artwork.
During the game, Schenectady Mayor McCarthy returned to the field to claim victory in the SportsClips Mayors race, with a little help from former Schenectady Mayor Brian Stratton. Race referee Sporty decided to look the other way on the interference!
Our friends from Quandt’s Foodservice Distributors were also in the park last night as they treated a number of customers to night out!
Sherwin Williams held a pre-game trade show in the Picnic Pavilion and one lucky fan walked away with twenty-four gallons of paint! Wow!
On the field , the ‘Cats won a wild one, 9-3. The ‘Cats pounded out a season-high 18 hits, and matched their biggest run total this year with nine. All hitters in the starting lineup collected at least one hit, six players had at least two, and Ryan Dineen, D’Andre Toney, and Jake Rodriguez all had three! In addition to the prowess at the plate, Andrew Thurman picked up his first professional win with a solid five innings of work with six strikeouts. The ValleyCats improved to 21-10, the best in the league, with the victory.
The ‘Cats will go for the series win as they take on Auburn once again on Friday night. Tonight also marks our 6th Annual Going Green Night at “The Joe!” Be sure to visit our Going Green vendors on the concourse for giveaways and great tips on how you can help the environment!
