The forecast called for whiteout conditions on Friday night as the ValleyCats hosted their first-ever Blizzard in August. The first 2,000 fans through the gate received white t-shirts to commemorate the event and the Cat Pack made it snow with 1,000 rally towels tossed into the stands as part of the 3rd inning t-shirt toss. We hope to cool things down every August as we look to make this an annual promotion. Unfortunately, Mother Nature provided the wrong kind of precipitation as steady rains delayed the start of the game by approximately 35 minutes. Hats off to Head Groundskeeper, John Hudson, and his staff for getting the field ready for play. The white rally towels were waving as the ‘Cats mounted a late-inning comeback bid before ultimately unraveling in a 12-4 loss. Check out some photo highlights from the night:
The ValleyCats will look to start a new winning streak as they welcome the Staten Island Yankees to town on Saturday.
