Camp Day/Senior Day!

We couldn’t have asked for better weather during our second matinee game of the season. Comfortable temperatures, a nice breeze, and intermittent cloud cover made for a great Camp Day game on Monday, August 6th.

As always, this day-game was well-attended by summer camps throughout the region. With many campers wearing their group’s colors, there was a rainbow effect in the stands.
The 11:00 AM start also created some opportunities for business men and women to do some lunchtime networking at the ballgame. The Albany-Colonie Chamber had their Business Referral Groups up in the Diamond Club to do just that. Some of their guests even included the esteemed competitors from the Cooley Motors Tri-City Mayors Race. (Link to some of their photos if you would like to use them: )
Our friends from the United Way were on hand to help raise awareness and thank their dedicated volunteers.
An 11:00 AM start is not the norm for players at this level but Brady Rogers was not fazed as he struck out eight Scrappers in six innings of work. The bats eventually got going as they scored five runs over the last four innings. The offensive outburst was punctuated by a long home run from Preston Tucker . . . his first at “The Joe.” Estimates from the Media Room had the tape-measure shot coming in at 380 – 400 feet.
The 35-13 ‘Cats head to Aberdeen for the start of a six game road trip that will carry them into the All-Star Break. The team returns home on Wednesday, August 15th to kick-off a huge homestand with both Brooklyn (Mets affiliate) and Staten Island (Yankees affiliate) visiting “The Joe.” Get your tickets now as several of these games are expected to sellout!
