Going Green Night at “The Joe”
The ValleyCats 5th Annual Going Green Night with the first 1,200 fans receiving a reusable grocery bag as they entered the stadium. Our green vendor fair featured a number of local and regional companies displaying on the concourse.
National Grid was the game sponsor with Bill Flaherty tossing out a ceremonial first pitch. National Grid also helped educate our fans on how to save money by conserving electricity.
Gallivan Companies was on hand to showcase landscape services as well as their Green Renewable product line.
The U.S.D.A. raised awareness about the invasive species that are threatening our forests and natural resources. Remember fans: don’t move firewood!
Our friends from Tech Valley Recycling showcased their services and displayed shredded electronics to highlight part of the recycling process.
Other vendors who were on hand included Cartridge World, Culligan Water, NYSERDA, and Bath Fitter. Thank you to all of our Going Green partners for another great event.
The 5th Inning Drag featured a guest performance from none other than Ken Williams. Nice moves, Ken!
Vincent Velasquez did his part with 8 K’s in 6 innings of work but the offense couldn’t breakthrough against a sharp Batavia defense. The first place ‘Cats will look to avenge a 1-0 loss on Thursday against the Muckdogs.
Join us on Thursday for Summer Olympics Night presented by MVP Health Care. We will celebrate the men and women competing in London for the red, white, and blue.
