The ValleyCats staff and players were pretty in pink tonight for the 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day at “The Joe.”
The players wore specialty pink jerseys that were auctioned off during the game. Auction winners received their jerseys on the field following the game with the proceeds going to the Women’s Health Center at Samaritan Hospital. Pink bats with mystery autographs from current ValleyCats and Houston Astros were also up for sale to benefit CRAAB (Capital Region Action Against Breast Cancer). Thank you to all who participated in helping these great causes!
Prior to the game, a number of breast cancer survivors were honored on the field as part of tonight’s ceremonies. Each of these women received a special bouquet from SouthPaw in recognition of their fight against cancer.
Our friends from Catseye Pest Control were also in the house with Caddie throwing out a ceremonial first pitch and joining the Cat Pack for several on field promotions.
Dave Manny and the folks from Black & White Taxi were on hand to provide a lift for those participating in the T-Shirt Toss.
On the field, ‘Cats pitching worked in and out of trouble all day but couldn’t close the door in the 9th. The team will look to rebound on Monday Night as we celebrate all things Social Media at the ballpark. If the team can get to 6,000 “Likes” on Facebook by noon, we will offer $1 TICKETS to all of our Facebook fans!!!!!!!! Tell your friends as we’re just 25 away!
