Sunday Funday at “The Joe” kicked off early with the ‘Cats Crew V.I.P. Kids Club Lunch. Members had a chance to mingle with the players with a special lunch in the Time Warner Cable Picnic Pavilion. Jacob Malinowski was selected to throw out a Ceremonial First Pitch representing the ‘Cats Crew and a number of other members participated in Baseball Buddies on the field.
Today was also SouthPaw’s birthday as fans were able to sign a card on their way into the ballpark. The big guy was honored with a Ceremonial First Pitch and presented with his card following the game. The Eddy Day Break was tonight’s game sponsor with frisbee and t-shirt giveaways throughout the night.
Gates opened at 4:00 PM for our first pre-game catch of the season and kids were invited back onto the field after the final out to run the bases. Fans also enjoyed the World’s Biggest Sundae promotion courtesy of Stewart’s Shops following the game . . . the perfect way to cap off a Sunday Funday at “The Joe.”
Aberdeen got out to an early lead and the ‘Cats dropped a 10-5 decision in the second game of the series. The rubber match is scheduled for Monday night at 7:00 PM. Monday is We Love New York Night with a Governor Cuomo Bobblehead Giveaway for the first 1,500 fans through the gate. Tonight’s game is also your last chance to catch some baseball at “The Joe” before the team goes on the road for six games.
