Hall of Fame Night at “The Joe”
The National Baseball Hall of Fame visited “The Joe” on Friday night with a display that included a 1928 Johnny Evers model glove, a Babe Ruth model bat, Nolan Ryan’s Astros cap worn during his 4,000 strikeout and Craig Biggio’s batting gloves from his 3,000th hit. 
The 2012 Class of Frank & Peggy Steele Hall of Fame Interns made the trip from Cooperstown and enjoyed a pre-game presentation in the Picnic Pavilion. ValleyCats President, Bill Gladstone, spoke about his experiences in the game and then introduced team Vice President/GM, Rick Murphy, who discussed the day to day operations of the organization. ‘Cats Manager, Stubby Clapp, provided an on-field perspective to round out the panel.
The Hall of Fame Interns experienced minor league baseball first hand as several of them competed in the Pony Hops promotion on the field.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities were also on-hand tonight with Kyle Porter tossing out one of the evening’s Ceremonial First Pitches.
State College outlasted the ValleyCats on the field again as the team could only muster one run. Aberdeen comes to town on Saturday as gates open at 5:00 PM for Photo Day. There will be a team poster giveaway and fans will be invited onto the field for an opportunity to get autographs from their favorite ValleyCats. The special Family Four Pack Offer is still available for Saturday’s game as part of the All-American Homestand.
