The team showed their appreciation with a special tribute video that aired prior to the game.
Korean War veteran, Tom McVeigh, and Operation Enduring Freedom veteran, Specialist Nicholas Mustico were recognized with ceremonial first pitches.
Associate Director for the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center and Vietnam era veteran, Donald Stuart welcomed the crowd and led ‘Cats fans in a special round of applause to honor all of the veterans in attendance.
The New York Army National Guard presented the colors, while Shawn Morgan, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, sang the national anthem. A patriotic fireworks display, courtesy of Price Chopper, capped off the evening.
The ‘Cats dropped a tough 2-1 decision on the field, unable to break through against State College pitching. Brady Rogers was took the tough luck loser despite allowing just one earned run and fanning six.
