The ValleyCats ripped off a franchise record 8th consecutive win on Saturday night as they reached the end zone twice in a 14-5 win over the Tigers.
Dan Gulbransen and Jobduan Morales combined for two homers and nine RBI’s. The homer was Gulbransen’s first as a professional. That was more than enough offense for Vincent Velasquez who struck out seven in six dominant innings. The ‘Cats will take to the road on Sunday as they look to continue their historic streak in Lowell.
Saturday night was also Farm & Agriculture Night with a Scout Sleepover taking place on the field after the game. 4,452 fans packed “The Joe” with some 150 scouts camping in the outfield.
Head Groundskeeper, John Hudson, showed off his tractor in the 8th inning T-Shirt Toss . . . but it was the drag team that proved to be the real country boys.

Tonight’s game was also the annual Teen Worker Safety Promotion which included the Personal Protective Equipment Challenge, an onfield contest to highlight the importance of safe practices in the workplace.
